Our Story

The Frank and Lillian Randolph Foundation is a charitable organization dedicated to providing the Gift of Hearing to the hearing impaired.

Frank Randolph served as a First Lieutenant in the United States army and was wounded twice, for which he was decorated. After his discharge in 1946 he was one of the first African American police officers to be appointed to the Richmond Police Department and was later the first to be promoted to  Detective Lieutenant.  His devoted wife, Lillian Randolph, was a gifted pianist and organist and her talents graced her church and surrounding community for over 60 years. The couple both were hearing impaired and each wore hearing aids to improve their quality of life.

Today, hearing loss affects approximately 15% of Americans (18+) and has been linked to health impairments including dementia, depression, isolation, and social withdrawal. It is estimated that 28.8 million adults in the United States could benefit from hearing devices.

To honor their memory and dedication to service we have established the Frank and Lillian Randolph Foundation. Our mission it is to provide individuals with significant hearing loss and limited financial resources quality hearing aids that fit their specific needs. Please help us with our mission and give the gift of hearing today.
